It is a great pleasure to welcome promising and talented choral and orchestral conductors from all over the world to participate in Lund International Choral Academy in Sweden, 18–25 October 2012. The participants will have the opportunity to rehearse under the supervision of one of northern Europe ́s most prominent choral conductors – Gustaf Sjökvist, professor at the Swedish Royal College of Music and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Director Musices at Lund University, Patrik Andersson, is also teaching in masterclasses.
The master classes will encompass conducting, interpretation and music analysis within the classical genre of choral and orchestral repertoire.
The Danish National Vocal Ensemble/DR Vokalensemblet, a full time professional chamber choir with 18 trained soloists, and the professional Swedish chamber orchestra Musica Vitae will act as objects of practice. These musicians represent the top level of northern Europe, concerning music quality.
The participants will have the opportunity to conduct the choir and the orchestra at rehearsals and at a public concert. The concert is part of the international festival programme of Lund Choral Festival.
Students who successfully participate in the Lund International Choral Academy will be acknowledged with 8 ECTS points.
